
Almost 80% of Russians said they were happy with their lives in a survey by the Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM).
The number of Russians satisfied with most aspects of their lives has grown by 17% over the past two decades, sociologists say. Whereas twenty years ago, only 62% of respondents said they were doing well, now as many as 79% say so.
As many as 90% of Russians do not experience any social interaction difficulties – they said they are completely satisfied with their circle of contacts; 81% of respondents are satisfied with their education; and 80% said they are satisfied with their social position, TASS reports.
As for their current financial standing, 46% of respondents said they are fine with that. Experts note that 20 years ago, about half as many people said so. Furthermore, 78% of respondents reported they eat quality food and have no housing problems.
