Russians leaving Siberia and the Far East

According to the Federal Service for State Statistics (Rosstat), the highest population decline in Russia has been recorded in three federal districts: Volga, Siberian and Far Eastern, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports.

According to Rosstat, Russians are also leaving the Saratov, Omsk and Kemerovo regions, as well as the Altai Territory.

The North Caucasus, on the contrary, shows the highest population growth rate. The Central Federal District also has a high population growth due to those who migrate there from less flourishing regions.

Rosstat also named the regions with the highest average life expectancy: these are Ingushetia, Daghestan, Moscow and Kabardino-Balkaria. The Far East has the lowest life expectancy.
