A delegation from Sberbank has made a working visit to the United Arab Emirates, the corporate web page reported. During the visit they met minister of the government of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi Abdullah bin Saleh al Adwan and discussed bilateral cooperation and interaction on developing AI with him.
Sberbank also organised and held a round table in Abu Dhabi titled ‘Russia: Broad Horizons’, which focused on opportunities for investing in Russia. It was attended by senior managers of Emirati investment funds and banks.
During the round table, Sberbank presented its vision with regard to current state of the Russian economy and the investment potential of specific industries. Sberbank’s 2020 Strategy for technological leadership was outlined. The bank’s representatives also talked about Sberbank’s AI solutions, emphasised the interest in Islamic finance, and offered to directly facilitate investments from the UAE in Russia.
The total volume of investment capital in Persian Gulf states is estimate at more than $3.2 tln, part of which has been allocated for Russian projects. At the same time, only a small part of the allocated capital has actually been invested in Russia. The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) is the main business partner of Arab funds in Russia. Sberbank actively works with the RDIF.
