Russian combine harvesters to become ground drones?

Econiva, a Russo-German agrarian holding company and Russia’s biggest partner for John Deere, has teamed up with Cognitive Pilot, a leading Russian developer of AI systems for autonomous vehicles, in a three-year cooperation project that is expected to equip an estimated 10,000 combine harvesters in 35 Russian regions with an autonomous driving and control system developed by Cognitive Pilot.

The partners have plans to create new solutions and products for smart agriculture based on the C-Pilot driverless control platform.

Equipping the machinery with autonomous driving technology is expected to help boost harvesting efficiency and lower the cost of grain production by at least 3-5%.
