Gazprom recorded a new daily gas supply record to China on Saturday, marking the third such milestone since the start of 2026. The Russian gas giant did not reveal the exact delivery volume, according to Interfax, citing a company statement.
The Power of Siberia gas pipeline reached its full design capacity of 38 billion cubic meters annually in late 2024, equal to roughly 110 million cubic meters per day. In December 2025 and January 2026, daily deliveries climbed to around 112 million cubic meters.
Last fall, Gazprom and China’s CNPC agreed to explore increasing supplies through the existing pipeline route to 44 billion cubic meters per year, or about 126 million cubic meters per day. However, the companies did not indicate when deliveries would consistently reach that level.
The latest record indicates that China is prepared to receive more gas through the Power of Siberia pipeline than its original design capacity. However, this does not mean the Chinese market has fully compensated for Gazprom’s lost sales in Europe. According to experts, even the planned increase to 44 billion cubic meters per year remains well below the volumes the company previously supplied to European customers.
