
The number of people in Russia with monthly salaries below RUR 15K ($210) reached 44.6% in June, compared to 38.1% in February, Rosgosstrakh Life reports.
The number of people in extreme poverty has also increased. According to the Rosgosstrakh Life survey, some 8.1% of poll-takers have an income below RUR 5K ($70) – primarily in the Khabarovsk Territory, Trans-Baikal Territory and Kabardino-Balkaria.
One in every five respondents said that their income significantly dropped during the pandemic. One in every ten claims to have lost all income.
At the same time, the number of Russians making over RUR 100K ($1.4K) per month has increased from 1.8% to 2.1%. The majority of these people are based in the Yamal Nenets Autonomous Area, the Moscow Region and Moscow, RBC reports.
