Russia’s major agroholding becomes priority development area resident

Agroeco Group, one of Russia’s largest pork producers, has become a key resident of the Pavlovsk priority social and economic development area in the Voronezh Region.

The company has already commenced construction of a new meat processing facility and launched another fodder plant. The foundation stone-laying ceremony to mark the construction start was attended by Voronezh Region Governor Alexander Gusev and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Gordeyev, who had served as governor of the region from 2009 through 2017.

The investments in the project total RUR 2.6 bln ($40.4 mio), including RUR 2.2 bln provided by Russia’s state-owned agricultural bank Rosselkhozbank. The annual production volume will amount to 200,000 tons, with the opportunity to increase it to 400,000 tons.

“Agroeco is a large enterprise based in the Voronezh Region, and it is expanding into other regions as well”, agricultural and food market expert Natalya Chizh says. “Last year, the company launched construction of a pig-breeding facility in the Tula Region”.
