A person who has no means of communication must be found within ten hours, irrespective of weather conditions and time of the day. A developer of such a technology will be paid $1 mio by Sistema Charity Fund. Effectiveness of the innovation will be judged by experts representing search and rescue organizations, including such well known ones as Liza Alert and Angel. Besides, the panel will include a representative of Robotics Laboratory of the Savings Bank. Ministry of digital development, communications and mass media became the information partner of the contest.

Nowadys, lost people are searched by UAVs and thermal cameras which detect heat emissions of humans. Still, such devices are less efficient than aviation. Rescuers note that in case a person has no mobile phone, the chance of finding such a person is fairly small. A mobile phone, even when it is switched off, emits some signals thus substantially improving chances to discover its owner.
