Contract electronics production faced a large-scale shortage of personnel. Depending on the direction, the shortage of workers ranges from 20 to 60%. Such data are provided by CNews with reference to a report from the Association of Electronics Developers and Manufacturers (AEDM).
The deficit is associated with increased volumes of electronics production – over the past 2023 alone, volumes here increased by 40%, the market is estimated at 30.13 billion rubles. The outflow of personnel also affects the enterprises of the military-industrial complex. It is not possible to close the deficit even taking into account the growing wages, which have increased by almost 30% on average over the past two years.
In total, the industry lacks about 7 thousand employees. The largest deficit was recorded in such professions as electronic equipment installer, process engineer, and design engineer.
The industry really lacks personnel, as Oleg Logvinov, an expert on digital transformation, confirms. Moreover, we are talking about visionaries who can determine a new path for the development of the industry, as well as high-quality and effective managers, not to mention workers on surface installation lines. An integrated approach only will allow to cope with the situation.
“It is necessary to take a more systematic approach to training, to regulate the distribution of talents in the country, so that most of them are employed in technological industries, and not in banks or e-commerce,” Oleg Logvinov believes.
It would be worth changing the education system, the expert notes. For example, allowing students to combine training and work at microelectronics enterprises, providing salary subsidies for this. And also introducing motivational mechanisms for production workers so that they take apprentices and grow future professionals.
