Sberbank Private Banking launching new investment advisory platform

Sberbank Private Banking (SPB) and Refinitiv  (formerly the Financial and Risk business of Thomson Reuters) have announced the start of work to develop a new investment advisory platform, the bank’s web page repoerts.

New digital technology will complement expertise provided by investment consultants and analysts, automate the processes of creating and maintaining client portfolios, and make managing investments more efficient. The new platform will bring together three sets of data: market data provided by Refinitiv, investment expertise provided by the specialists of SPB (a unit of Sberbank), and the latest data on the client’s portfolio. New technological solutions will allow SPB to meet the standards and requirements of the Central Bank of Russia for updated regulation of investment advisory services.

The first stage will be launched in mid-2019. Investment advisors will be able to analyse the latest information about each client, such as yield and a breakdown of financial operations, carry out stress tests, compare existing portfolios with modelled ones, and suggest rebalancing if necessary. Thanks to the new platform’s automated analysis, SPB’s investment advisors will be able to offer the bank’s clients a new systemic approach to creating individual strategies.

In 2020, during the second stage of the project it is planned to significantly broaden the functionality of the platform to make it available to clients for independent analysis. After the third stage is launched, it will be possible to carry out the complete cycle of investment portfolio management — from viewing and analysing the portfolio to buying and selling online.
